Understanding the Louis Pons art work is something very difficult. The story of this artist born in Marseille is highly connected with the Chave art gallery because he has participated to some indivuduals (''Parcours'' (1982), ''Rétrospectives'' (1987)) and collectives ("Les éléphants sont parmi nous'' (1987) ... ''Surprises des réserves'' (1998)) exhibitions. Louis Pons affranchises himself from all the systems and since the beginning of the 1950's he builds a singular art work leaded by a rebel spirit full of humor. He follows school studies as metal worker and makes some cartoons for a local paper before stopping because he improve some watching problems. In 1961 Louis Pons becomes to make his famous "Assemblages" by directing objects without any value he has put together for giving them a highly importance. Louis Pons succeeds to create revolutionnary compositions arousing feelings like meditation.
