Tamara Dobson, l'agent secret.

Née le 14 mai 1947 à Baltimore (Maryland) Tamara Dobson commence par travailler comme esthéticienne et obtient un diplôme en dessin de mode au Maryland Institute of Art. Un photographe la découvre en 1969 et l'incite à entamer une carrière de mannequin. Elle posera pendant plusieurs années pour différents magazines de mode comme "Essence", "Mademoiselle", "Redback" ou "Ebony magazine".

Elle effectuera principalement sa carrière artistique durant les films de la Blaxploitation ou elle interprétera le rôle d'un agent secret dans "Cléopatra Jones" (1973) et "Cléopatra Jones et le casino doré" (1975). Il faut également noter qu'elle jouera dans des films plus sexy comme "Chained heat" (1983) et "Amazons" (1984).

Sa carrière fera l'objet d'un livre écrit par Yvonne D. Sims "Woman of Blaxploitation : How the black action film heroïne has changed the american popular culture" (éditions Mc Farlane, 2006). Tamara Dobson décèdera le 2 octobre 2006 et recevra un hommage spécial durant le 76ème cérémonie des Oscars en 2007.
