The movie "The man who mends the women, the Hippocrat's anger" deals with the Denis Mukwege fight. He cures young and old women victims of sexual abuses in Congo. We must go back to the origins of the colonization for understanding why there is so many violence against the most fragile people in Congo. When the king of Belgium Leopold the second creates "the independant state of Congo" for enriching himself he let's his subordinates who entitled themselves "public force" being like ruffians against the Congolese. These people commit some violence (hands cuted, tortures, rapes) who foreshadow the Mobutu violence and the violence of the military groups after the Mobutu ending.
The Belgium colonialism didn't have done something good for the Congo and the Congolese. When Mobotu takes the power by force in 1965 the Congo falls down more deeply. Mobutu loved to use the lie for leading the Congo and loves to roundabout the thinking of the great black writers. He didn't hesitate to kill his own opponents after truncated trails and he takes all the Congo richness for building some palaces or keeping one's pay his interlocutors. The reign of that man is ended in the blood. An anglophone coalition composed by the Ouganda and the Rwanda attack the Congo in 1994. These coalition has three purposes : killing the Hutus who have participated to the Rwanda genocide, falling down Mobutu and tacking all the Congo richness.
In this context of pillage a man the doctor Denis Mukwege refuses to see the horrors anymore. The 6th of October 1996 he watches some of his patients being killed by the soldiers of one of the Congolese lords of war. After that he decides to cure the women victims of raping because they lives a real trauma. A trauma involves by the rape but also by the rejection of their families and their husbands. A third trauma can also appears if these women are infected by the AIDS. The doctor operates all the time in his Hospital of Bukavu (South Kivu) and leads also a fight for stopping these atrocities but the military groups don't like his fight and they have tried to kill him. Now the doctor Mukwege is protected by the UN soldiers and his old patients. Sounded two times for recieving the Nobel prize of peace he recieves in 2014 the Sakharov prize for the freedom of thinking.
