The South - African photographer Lea Colombo improves a real interest since her childhood for shooting and specially for shooting fashion pictures. When she was a teenager she never hesitate to take a camera for shooting around her (landscapes, friends, ...). She has taken her first pictures in Cape town but she decides to go to Paris because she never succeeds to find the models she needs. In Paris she meets interesting and great people and begins to work as assistant photographer but quickly she makes herself her own fashion pictures.
Lea Colombo privileges the experience because she estimates that following studies at the University can be useful but for shooting the work is much more important than the degrees. She works during runway shows for magazines like Dazed, Elle UK, Elle China. Now Lea Colombo prefers to shoot men because she estimates that everything has been done with women. Before the runway shows she prepares herself mentally and during the show she never shoot flash. She only uses the natural light for capturing the atmosphere. Lea Colombo lives in New - York City and her mentors are : Marc Sorrenti, Craig McDean, Nick Knight, David Sims.
