Poï Poï, a Monaco private collection.

Exhibition at the Villa Sauber until April the 30th 2017, 17 avenue Princess Grace, 98000 Monaco, open everyday from 10am to 6pm, fee : 6 €.

 

The Villa Sauber gives a tribute to F. and J. Merino a couple of collectors from Monaco. Under the Poï Poï who symbolizes a way for agreed punctuated by the sound for the Dogon people in Mali the couple has created a special link with the artists. F. et J. Merino have transformed their own apartment as an art gallery for exhibiting some artists like Arman, Andreas Gursky, George Herold. The couple has decided to go for meeting the artists inside their own studios like Ben and his Laboratory 32, to support artists collective like Fluxus and also to help underground magazines like the Open magazine. Since the beginning of the 1980's F. et J. Merino explore the universe of the American appropriationists photographers like Louise Lawler and Cindy Sherman.
