The Villa Paloma showcases the art work of one of the photography pioneer Hercule Florence. Son of a french revolutionary soldier Armand Florence and a woman from Monaco Augustine Vignalis he takes a boat at the age of twenty to Brazil. He will follow the Amazon river until the spring. During this trip he observes, draws some birds and invents a musical system for classifying the birds songs. Hercule Florence discovers also a photographic process with a paper leaf full of holes and puts in front of a light but in Europe some inventors have founded the same process. So Hercule Florence will never be include among the photographs founders. Today some contemporary artists like Linda Fregni Nagler, Lucia Koch, Leticia Ramos or Joachim Limpert gives him a tribute.
