The book introduces Addi Bâ a young African who belongs to the famous Tirailleurs Sénégalais and leader during three years underground forces before being executed by the German forces the 18th of December 1943. Captured by the German forces in Summer 1940 he succeeds to escape and see a war crime making by these forces (filming the humiliation of the Black soldiers and their killing in cold blood). A young school teacher hides Addi Bâ and helps him to take contact with underground fighters for creating the first underground force. Addi Bâ fights with courage but he is sometimes the victim of racism inside the underground force. Finally the Addi Bâ underground force will be broken.
