The Pierre Bonnard art style has always grows up from the Julian Academy founded for preparing to the Fine - Arts school to his last years at the villa le Bosquet in the city of le Cannet. When he follows studies at the Julian Academy he meets some foreign students in a kind of modernity laboratory. Pierre Bonnard becomes a member of the Nabis movement under the Gauguin influence and for promoting the culture of a country he loves : Japan. A different conception of the perspective, an exhaltation for the colors and the simplicity of the forms will be his own way for making. At the beginning of the 20th century Pierre Bonnard paints some nudes but after the WWI cataclysm he decides to go back to the nature in a kind of introspection.
