Michel Butor orientates itself also towards the art books with "Degree" (1960) and "Mobile" (1962). In "Mobile" he made some sticking (encyclopaedia, advertising, ...) for speaking about the American way of living. Some writers and critics think that he has introduced the hypertext in writing. Michel Butor will continue his collaboration full of curiosity with the artists in "Illustrations" who deals with crossed art works. The ICCA tributes today the one who has put together some artists in a huge exhibition in 2002.
