Alfredo Volpi, the poetic of the color

The Brazilian painter born in Italy Alfredo Volpi stays among the famous painters (Candido Patinori and Torrila Do Amaral) of the Brazilian modernism. This autodidact belongs his career like assistant of a house painter and learns colors, making pigments and stretchers with him. Alfredo Volpi wouldn't belong to any vanguard but he will create his own art style who give him famous. He uses an old technical from the Middle - Age the Tempera. The Tempera consists to mix two different liquids who don't mix themselves together alone with the help of a stick or a brush for giving them the same aspect. Inside the Alfredo Volpi painting the brush plays an important part for mixing and spreading the painting. Alfredo Volpi finds his inspiration inside the popular Brazilian culture and also in the Quattrocento. He represents fronts, houses and flags in compositions near cubism but at the end his paintings clearly belong to the naïve art because he rejected the perspective.
