Attracted by the surrealism movement and poetry the illustrator, painter, engraver and poet Gerard Titus Carmel has followed his artistic studies at the famous Boule Art School between 1958 and 1962. His way of making art is concentrated around the object whose he analyses the movement and also the breaking up process. When Gérard Titus Carmel wants to recreate the movement he uses stria and hatching made with graphite. The breaking up process need more time because Gerard Titus Carmel creates the object and dissects the different steps of his breaking up for making a painting dialectic.
