Irene Kopelman exhibition

irene Kopelman confronts the curiosity shops, the mineral drawings and mineral species she likes to contemporary ecological challenges. Irene chooses generally wildest landscapes (jungle, deserts, ...) and immerges herself totally inside. She stays nothing less sitting on her chair in front of her drawing board. Irene observes and all the time finds a small piece that seems to be nothing for us but who means many for her. This thing will become the main topic of her art work. At the MMACA exhibition she uses lianas and made some abstracts drawings and gouaches about lianas from the Panama tropical forest or from mangrove. Her lianas roll themselves up around the trees looking for light and symbolize the human being way of living.
