Drawing finds his own roots inside the Italian word designo invented in 1444 who means the drawing action but also the result of this action. Drawing can't stay something neutral because it must follow the Matisse words who said that it's an expansion strength. The exhibited at the Vence Museum illustrate these words by developing several expressions around the strocke. Gaëlle Chotard makes some drawings full of volumes because she doesn't want to jail her own art work inside an ordinary page. The Muriel Toulemonde installation gives life to drawings by let them be free from their original state. Drawings can also be expressive. The drawer play also on shadows or contrasts like Gilles Miquelis or Michel Houssin for sollicitating our imagination and inviting us to penetrate inside their oniric worlds.
