During the bienniale dedicated to motion picture in Nice Entre | Deux put together ten artists around a specific American cinematographic gender the road movie. This gender find it's roots in the 1940's with movies like "The wizard of Oz" (1939) and "The grapes of wrath" (1940) and will be popularized by th counter culture movie symbol "East Rider" directed by Dennis Hopper in 1969. The exhibited artists take back the road movie codes the develop after inside their art works. The main idea of the road movie scripts is a wild escape on the roads until the skyline (Jérémy Griffaud "Raccourci facile" (2019) but here limited to California, Texas and Japan (Karen Cytter "Rose Garden" (2018). The way of moving plays an important part inside road movies because the car industry appears at the same time as motion picture industry (Francis Paris "Le vide et le vent" (2018). The road movies heroes look for the freedom far from the consumption society (Fred Ucciani "Lubric Bisbee Arizona" (2016) and involve themselves a lot about meaning of life in a violent environment (Loïc Le Pivert "Déjà mort", (2019).
