Pierre et Gilles, the picture tasting

The artists Pierre and Gilles belong to the visual art movement and their exhibition about movie looks like a new watch on movie making. Impregnating by Hollywood, Korean and Chinese movies during their childhood they don't hesitate to break all the codes. Pierre and Gilles still work by using different themes like pop culture, religion, pornography by introducing inside flowers, birds, stars, kitsch skies, crowns made with  rubber and auras translating the influence of the Bollywood movies on them. The Pierre and Gilles canvas direct nearest ananymous people and famous people (Madonna, Nina Hagen, ...) inside sophisticated sets building in real size in their own studio. They begin by shooting their topic and after developing it on a canvas before painting. The result mixes elitist art with popular culture with humor.
