The violet picking exists since the ending of the 19th century around the city of Tourettes - sur - Loup. The climate composed by winters without any snow, by dry summers and sweet autumns helps to develop such culturing in small fields. The cutting begins in May for ended in July. The lifestyle photographer Ellen Teurlings inspire herself with this tradition for shooting the gatherers duringn their precision work. The violet owns many meanings like a mythological for people living in Greece or curing for Romans.
