The violet picking exists since the ending of the 19th century around the city of Tourettes - sur - Loup. The climate composed by winters without any snow, by dry summers and sweet autumns helps to develop such culturing in small fields. The cutting begins in May for ended in July. The lifestyle photographer Ellen Teurlings inspire herself with this tradition for shooting the gatherers duringn their precision work. The violet owns many meanings like a mythological for people living in Greece or curing for Romans. This flower induces also a political message used by Napoleon the first in 1815 when he goes back from the Elba island. All these points of views can be find inside the Ellen Teurlings pictures.
