The photographer Charles Bébert belongs to the golden edge of pictures making where the professionnals know how becoming friends with celebrities. His way of working was very easy to do : not spying stars like paparazzis and stealing their private life just having fun with them. So he is the friend of Jean - Paul Belmondo, Emmanuel Petit, Angie Dickinson, Romy Schneider, Pelé and some other famous people. Born in Oran (Algeria) 85 years ago Charles Bébert begins his career at 14 when his father gives him a camera as a gift for his birthday. He works as journalist for the "Oran Republicain" first and covers the Oran Film Festival where he will meet the 1950's stars like Paul Francoeur or Daniel Gélin. After the independance of Algeria Charles Bébert moves to Nice and opens a studio (Dalposso street) who will be the potent place for famous people. This studio owns a real photographic treasure and his son Stephane follows the way underlining it. This proximity with stars helps Charles Bébert to be the only French photographer guested to the Mick and Bianca Jagger wedding in 1971. The Rolling Stones leader have appreciated the fact that Bébeert says anything about the beginning of his love affair between him and Bianca. Charles Bébert is also an indefectible friend of Jean - Paul Belmondo and fourty pictures of this friendship where highlight around the Pierre Gautier square. The actor invited the photographer for spending time when he stays in Saint - Jean - Cap - Ferrat for his summer holidays. Today the Charles Bébert son classifies his father's negatives including several themes (music, picture, women, sport, ...) on five decades.
