Reading again Mafalda

September 29 1964 the weekly paper "Primera Plana" prints for the first time a comic strip about a young teenager names Mafalda. The goal of this strip is underlining advertising about the Mansflied domestic electrical appliances. This doesn't work but the Mafalda character will stay and develop in other papers ("El Mundo" and "Sieté Dias Illustreras") until 1973. Mafalda looks like a comic for children but owns a political part. She reads many papers, interrogates the adults makes some critics and develop a feminist commitment. Quino has lived a happy life with a wife he loves a lot and has kept watching her including her feminist speech for building Mafalda. Around Mafalda herself we can find others young characters foloowing Argentina the stereotypes of this time. The girls like Susanita a free woman who want to get married or Libertad an intellectual share the Mafalda thinking. The boys Manolito a future businessman, Felipe a secret man and Susanita lover, Miguelito an anarchist and Guille the young Mafalda brother don't agree all the times with the Mafalda ideas. The comic include also the Mafalda parents. The father without any names belong the Argentina Middle class works as employee and doesn't succeed to answer to Mafalda questions. The mother Rachel must observe the kids attitude specially for avoiding jokes. Mafalda observes her mother and doesn't understand why she has decided to leave her studies. This documentary introduced during the last CanneSeries remind us Mafalda and her influence towards the menories of those who have drawn or written the dialogs of this 1960's Argentina icon.
