The American film maker Christopher Nolan depicts over three hours the Robert Oppenheimer life the first scientist who have with the help of his team invented the first atomic bomb at the end of World War II. For writing the script he used the Kai Bird ad Martin J. Sherwin book names "American prometheous : the triumph and tragedy of Robert J. Oppenheimer" where the both writers show us a man pulled between his own convictions and international topics far from them. This contradiction disturbs also his daily life of scientist and lover chosen by the will of the general Leslie Groves for leading the Manhattan project. Groves improves a huge admiration for the Oppenheimer intelligence and he thinks that it could be an asset for winning the war against the axe forces. At the head of a famous scientists team Oppenheimer succeeds to build quickly the first atomic bomb and the explosion in the New - Mexico desert underlines all the possibilities and the strength of such weapon. Christopher Nolan doesn't take only special effects for filming this explosion and pictures coming from historical archives because "Oppenheimer" isn't just a biopic. He perfers mixing and building little miniatures who will be higher on screen with the support of cameras. Whit the help of this technics the film director constructs some abstract and colorfull pictures. Obsessed by the atomic bomb consequences Oppenheimer spends his time after 1945 highlighting the dangers of such weapon but few people understands and he will be reject. "Oppenheimer" show us the portrait of a paranoïd America at the beginning of cold war thinking that atomic weapons can give peace and stability all over the world.

one thing, the usa enlarge wasn't paranoid, the truth is, the populace in control which includes the government and the wealthiest were the main engines of this activity, all others, the 90% of the populace, were simply too fiscally poor to stop it or avoid it.

After World War II the cold war begins and a confrontation between two types of systems happens (communist and non communist). The non communist world (free world or capitalist world) and I include United States in is leaded at this time by fear. Fear about nuclear war or fear about communism. This fear can considered for some people as a kind of paranoïa. Cold war wasn't hot war and after 1962 (Cuba missiles crisis) a kind of peacefull coexistence between Americans and Russians is built until 1991 (communism falling).
