The "Lee" movie genesis begins when the film maker Ellen Kuras remarks that the actress Kate Winslet looks like the famous photographer Lee Miller. The own Lee Miller's son Anthony Pearose supports too the project and let Kate Winslet watching her mother private archives. Kate Winslet also involves a lot in the writing, casts the actors and actresses and finds the money. The Kate Winslet and Ellen Kuras collaboration builds a movie in which we follow the Lee Miller career from the beginning as fashion photographer for "Vogue" magazine to her meeting with Man Ray and the surrealism movement until the concentration camps pictures as war correspondant. With Man Ray she creates and develops the solarization technical including sense of spirit and humor. Lee shot also desert and old Egytpian ruins during the 1930's before going back to Paris. During the second world war Lee works as war correspondant for "US Army" and was with US forces in the Normandy landing (June 1944). Lee Miller and David Sharman a "Life" journalist move through Europe until Bavaria (Germany) where she will pose for a famous picture inside the bath of the German dictator Hitler killed himself in Berlin few days ago. Lee follows the American forces when they liberate the concentration camps and discovers the horrors of the finale solution nazis killings. The "US Army" board doesn't trust her when the receive Lee pictures but she must insist giving evidences and at the end she wins.
