Between the first petroleum crash of 1973 and the Aids epidemic a new musical movement happens coming from funk, soul, rap and psychedelic music names the disco. Finding his roots inside the word discothèque it talks to American communities and minorities. The disco succeeds to rock music who has leaded during the 1960's and promotes a new culture far from counter - culture critics because it highlights sex, life and the night world. The disco follows heart beatings and isn't attracted by the meaning of the texts inside the songs because disco underlines fun. Dacing disco isn't something difficult because everybody in night clubs wear exhuberant clothes, move with sexual attitudes under the sunlights. The disco divas female (Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Ami Stewart, Sheila, ...) and male (Bee Gees, Earth  Wind and Fire, ...) become to be known in 1975 and rockers (Rod Stewart, Blondie, Kiss) try to do so but with different kind of success. This type of music comes to the top in 1977 like the "Saturday night fever" movie where the actor John Travolta performs in prove it. This musical movement ended because it will be too many offer and also many people didn't like the part playing by women and African - American in. Auto - da - fe in some American states names "Disco sucks" like the most known "Disco demolition night" in the Comenkey Park (Chicago) the 10th of July 1979 happens with discs breakings and fightings with haters and Disco lovers. The election of Ronald Reagan as president, the influence of religion and Aids involve the Disco ending who thraws away from stages. Everything seems to be over but the house music and remix gives a new life to Disco and help the youth discovering it again.
