The exhibition "Monaco and the Naopléon (s), crossed destinies" helps discovering for the first time the strong relationships that exists between the both French emperors (Napoléon 1rst, Napoléon III) and the Grimaldy dynasty. Under the patronage of the prince of Monaco Albert II and with the support of the Napoléon foundation it highlights also the part playing by two monarchs Honoré V and Charles III. Honoré V has participated to many battles during the first French empire as officer and receives the famous legion d'honneur on the battle field for his courage. He also belongs to those who wait and support Napoléon the first when he moves back to France in March 1815. The exhibition deals with a sad episod when the principalty disappear by order of Convention the 14th of February 1793 until his resurrection with the two treaties of Paris (30th of May 1814, 20th of November 1815). The economic development of the principalty happens with the prince Charles III who decide to open a casino for gamblers and ending all the taxes. At the same time the French emperor Napoléon III industrializing the country involving business banks. This link follows with the prince Louis II who like Napoléon life. The exhibition underlines 200 works coming from museums, libraries, institutions or private collectors like hats, sculptures or Honoré V legion d'honneur showing us the strong links between the both dynasties.
