The "Cactus" exhibition help us understanding all the cactus meanings and artisitic part owning in with the support of the Yves Saint Laurent museum in Marrakech. Unknown in Europe until the 15th century it comes from dry zones and builds for them. This plant is introduced in Western countries during the 19th century inside gardens for underlining them or as topics for studies. As a curiosity cabinet "Cactus" constructs a dialog highlighting contrasts, irony and humor. This dialog begins between the Monaco exotic garden and the Majorelle garden in Marrakech encouraging artists to take the control of the plant forms inside their artworks. From Sergueï Eisenstain to David Hockney they all metamorphose the cactus for showing us the importance of protecting the weather far an enclosed place like a museum.
