Michel Franco gives us a terrific and frozen picture lesson with his ninth movie "Dreams" highlights at the 2025 Berlinale. Fernando (Isaac Hernandez) a ballet dancer moves to USA for making his dream true there he meets Jennifer (Jessica Chastain) a woman older than him belonging to the upper class working in a charitable foundation. The both want to live together but under the peer pressure of Jennifer everythging will become to be more violent. This story looks like a metaphor of the economical and social relationships between United - States and Mexico under the Trump administration where the first will lead the second. Written by Michel Franco just before the ICE affair in Minneapolis the script depicts an atmosphere directed by violence as the only answer. Jennifer doesn't be a MAGA member and lives in a peaceful universe. In contrary Fernando arrives in America in a truck among immigrants but during their love affair they will understand their real personnality. For performing Jennifer and Fernando the film director chooses an asymmetrical couple made by Jessica Chastain and Isaac Hernandez. Chastain is a confirmed actress from Hollywood and Hernandez plays for the first time in front of a camera but they involve themselves a lot in the movie. Michel Franco just wants to show reality to the audience far from speeches.
