The summer exhibition at the Grimaldi forum of Monaco highlights 300 canvas painted by Claude Monet and shows the connection he has built with the light of southern France. Monet is known for his series (Westminster Parliament, ....) where he makes the same theme at different moments of the day (the morning, the afternoon and the evening). He wants to catch the real by using also the sketch and pictures making. This work result stays as the forms dissolution helping moving from figurative art to abstract art. Claude Monet discovers French Riviera for the first time in 1883 during a trip he does with his friend the painter Pierre Auguste Renoir and meets at the beginning another friend the painter Cezanne. This travels looks like a searching location. At this time Claude Monet is someone famous because the art dealer Durand Ruel sells many Monet canvas including United States and he also owns a strong collectors network. Monet will do two others stays (1884,1888) and will visit alone landscapes around Monaco, Bordighera, Menton and Antibes. The French Riviera light encourage him to leave the topic for finding something unknown. Landscapes lead the Monet inspiration with their colors (blue, red, ...) who create a kind of line between them. We must notice the 30 canvas he has done in Antibes looking like far eastern printings. After this episod Claude Monet lives in Giverny and begins the nympheas serie who will change forever the meaning of painting.
