The TV serie dedicated to the famous French businessman, artist and politician Bernard Tapie begins when the film director Tristan Séguéla the son of the advertisor Jacques Séguéla who is the best Tapie's friend understand that the actor Laurent Lafitte physically really looks like Tapie. At the begining it was a joke but after Séguéla and the other script writer Olivier Dumangel start writing. Laurent Lafitte thinks that the Tapie character could be find inside Dumas or Balzac novels coming from a poor background owning the will rising up until the top. Everything starts in 1966 when the hero sells TV and records the song "Passeport pour le soleil" under the alias Bernard Tapy selling records more than some French singers of this time like Michel Polnareff. The Tapie's purpose isn't becoming an artist he just want to transform is name as a brand and also making money in business. During the 1970's with the support of his family he purchases or sells factories building an empire. The two script writers have founded their informations among interviews or TV shows but the Tapie's family doesn't agree with the serie. The Tapie's widow Dominique would another Film director may be his son in spite of the fact that the both have introduced the topic with goodwill and sensibility. She wants to keep the control about everything that can be say about her husband.
