The beginning of this TV serie finds his roots in a Tunde Wey thinking about the part playing by African - Americans in cooking because he believes that food helps building better relationships between people. Using his own experience Wey says that few African - American cookers like Nina Campton does are known in America and he wants to know why. He takes the exemple of two cities New - Orleans and Detroit for understanding. New - Orleans and African - American cooking go well together but the Katrina storm has broken this history. People move out the city for living in suburbs around and the prices of the restaurants dedicated to a new rich clients rise up. At the other side in the city of Detroit communities live together and African - American cooking made in small restaurants is something important. Detroit the Motor town in the 1950's owning an important middle class and the Big three factories known is golden age but the 1967 summer riots and majors bad mangement bring a brankruptcy. The today challenge will be building a new place with cooking as an asset. Tunde Wey doesn't try to construct a theory but he just limits his approach to African - Americans cookers and asks himslef if the youth and the elder can stay unite together.
