The film director Jonathen Glazer finds the inspiration inside the Martin Amis novel "The zone of interest" for dealing about the daily life of the extermination commandant camp Rudolf Höss. Separated by a wall with the camp the officer and his wife spent a happy times in a luxurious house owning several rooms and bathrooms. Some people coming from the camp work for Höss and his wife in. Höss executed without any pity all the orders including the most uggly and didn't hesitate using poison like the zyklon B for killing people more quickly. His wife Hedwig leads the house, keeps watching children and sends invitations for parties. The minds of the couple seems to be in peace but before going to bed Höss closed all the doors and windows because he wants to build a kind of border between his life and the camp. Höss seems also being involved in a corruption system inside the camp and having a love affair with a prostitute. Congratuled by his superiors he will stays there until November 1944. Judged by two court of justice (Nüremberg, Poland) he will never excuses himself about what he has done. His wife let his children down and spent times speaking about her happy life in the house camp with her friends. For building "The zone of interest" Jonathan Glazer looks for documents and testimonies including those coming from Höss and staying at the Museum of contemporary history in München. The Höss gandson Rainer writes a books about him where he denounces the silent of his family and highlights the danger of far right ideas. The actor Christian Friedel and the actress Sandra Hüller perform as the Höss couple and it isn't easy to do. Glazer gives them the advise focusing on the performance and forgot the other things. The sound plays also an important part because the action happens in a concentration camp even if we don't see killers and victims. It has been recorded in Berlin streets and works for introducing the reality in the Höss daily life full of lies.
