Produced by France and South Africa the TV serie "Spinners" deals with the adventures of Ethan (Cantona James) a young gangman driving cars for Damian for helping his young brother. The script writers have found their inspiration inside Nicolas Winding Refn movie "Drive" or Jerôme Salle movie "Zulu" with a lot of hip hop music and a south african casting. The spining comes from south african ghettos during apartheid when young people steal cars in upper side for racing. Today this practise stays as a way for expressing himself inside a post apartheid society leaded by violence. Spinning races cars move fast and racing are like crazy parties leaded by kwaita, drugs and alcool. Ethan wants to get away from his gangman life and thinks that spinning will help him for doing that beacause the most famous cars drivers can pretend to an international career. For shooting the crew has built a huge infrastructure including many cameras and also a deep knowledge about this way of racing. Spinning begins inside the black community and now it touches all the communities white and indian.
