At the end of the 1980's the Milli Vanilli group made with the German Robert Pilatus and the French Fabrice Morvan with hist like "Girl you know it's true" or "Keep on running" moves deeply the music world. Many people think that the both live a fairy tale but nobody know that on stage it's a paradise but out of the stage it's a kind of hell. Robert borns in New - York City from a stripper girl and an African American soldier. Adopted by a German family with his sister Carmen he must fight against racism when he was a child and decide practising sport before dancing as Sugar Break in the Bionic Dance Crew. Coming from Paris Fabrice moves to Germany for dancing. They meet together in the Münich night club and decide working in entertainment. Robert Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan find their own style including hair cut by watching pop icons and meet after Frank Farian the Boney M and Precious Wilson producer. At this time Farian want to takes time after ten years of success. He notice the fact that they perform well on stage but their voices aren't like those of soul singers but rather of variety singers. With the help of a computer, some real soul singers and chorists Farian correct the voices. On stage their lips move but others sing. Robert Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan top the charts in Germany but Farian needs more. He thinks that the key of success is first Ibiza and second London a city where everthing can begin. So he rents an appartment and contact the press. The success looks like a vawe in the ordinary of Robert Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan and the fame will disturb their way of living. The both integrate the jet set and it's codes like taking drug for Robert. They become also to be more independant by following teaching for singing like soul singers do and perfecting their voices. Today singers can win a Grammy because unreal voice isn't a problem but thirty years before noboby wanted such deal. Their purpose of being more free can also be find when they refuse perfoming on stage or making some provocations including sexuals. The pause happens when they receive an Award during the 1990 Grammy's ceremony. Just after their producer Frank Farian tells everything to the press. The Robert Pilatus and Fabrice Moran world falls down. Deeply wounded Robert tries to rebuild his career including an album with Farian but he passes away in 1997 after taking alcool and drugs. Now Fabrice performs as variety singers on many stages all over the world.
